Íñigo Landa Larrazábal, cidadán vasco neto de represaliada, vén de denunciar a Jaime Mayor Oreja, eurodeputado do Partido Popular, por "enaltecemento do franquismo". Esta demanda chega logo de que Mayor, no transcurso dunha entrevista en La Voz de Galicia, deixase para a posteridade perlas como "¿Cómo voy a condenar [o franquismo] que, sin duda, representaba a un sector muy amplio de españoles?" e na que tamén aseguraba que, aínda que "Algunos dicen que las persecuciones en los pueblos vascos fueron terribles (...), no debieron serlo tanto cuando todos los guardias civiles gallegos pedían ir al País Vasco. Era una situación de extraordinaria placidez".

Estas declaracións e a posterior denuncia, dan lugar, ademais de a un retrato das afinidades do personaxe, a unha reflexión posterior: que pasaría se as afirmacións de Mayor Oreja fosen feitas, poñamos por caso, por un líder da esquerda abertzale ou mesmo por un dirixente do PNV sobre a implantación social de ETA durante a ditadura? Se cadra, aplicábanlle a Lei.
